Camp Descriptions
“Triple Threats” is when an artist is trained in 3 different areas of performing arts: dance, acting, and music. Triple Threat performers are well rounded, diverse and valuable artists!
Tiny Tots Triple Threats Camp
Ages 3-6
When: Session 1 is July 6-29th. Session 2 is Aug. 2-27th.
Times: Creative Theatre is on Mondays 4:45-5:15. Kindermusik is on Wednesdays 5:30-6. Creative Movement is on Thursdays (choice of one time slot) 2:30-3, 5-5:30 or 5:30-6.
Cost: $96. New students to AAPAC require a one time registration fee of $15.
Instructors: Lisa Gerlits for Creative Theatre, Corin Parker for Kindermusik, and Rachel Coleman-Lesire for Creative Movement.
Deadline: On or before June 28th. Class size is limited to 8; early registration is recommended! Because the class limit is so small, if you do not inform us of absences you may forfeit your place in the classes/camps to someone on our waiting list.
Requirements: No previous experience required. The last class of each session is parent observation day.
Camp Includes:
· Explore the imagination and creativity through fun structured games and exercises. Learn basic acting skills, creating familiar characters, shapes and animals, discover rhythm, sing songs, and use small instruments. Develop coordination through movement and dance.
· Our fun classroom structure helps children to learn other basic skills such as listening, taking turns, manners, social skills, and much more.
· Children will make friends, fun memories and discover their inner talent and passions, while harnessing their creative energies.
Intro to Theatre Drama Camp
Ages 8-12
When: July 6-29th 3:30-5 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus performing at Homer Davenport Days (first weekend in August).
Cost: $150, plus a $10 registration/script fee (fee is due June 28th).
Instructor: Lisa Gerlits
Deadline: Script fee is due on or before June 28th to guarantee placement. Class size is limited to 20; early registration is recommended!
Requirements: No previous experience required. Must be able to read. Please be sure you have the first weekend in August available to perform at Homer Davenport Days in Silverton.
Camp Includes:

· Participate in a play with classmates, wear costumes and perform locally for public at conclusion of camp!
· Make friends and fun memories!

Camp Includes:
· In drama camp kids will learn basic acting skills such as character building, public speaking, pantomime, memorization skills, and more!
· Students have a choice of one dance class: Primary Ballet, Ballet 1, Ballet 2, Ballet 4, Jazz 1, Jazz 2, Kids Tap, or Theatre Dance. Learn a fun new dance style in the summer! Dance is an important skill for any performer to have.
· Students have a choice of one music class: Children’s Choir or Drumming. Learn rhythm, fun songs, develop a musical ear, and learn basic music theory. Music skills definitely come in handy for when we do musicals!
· Participate in a play with classmates, wear costumes and perform locally for public at conclusion of camp!
· Make friends and fun memories!
· Students may keep scripts at conclusion of camp.
Advanced Drama Classes & Workshops
Ages 12-20 (or by directors approval)
When: July 6-29th. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Times vary. See schedule for details. Performance oppotunities in August.
Cost: Take a class individually as a "workshop" for only $15 each, or take 4 of your choice for $40. You can take all of them, all 4 weeks for $400.
Instructors: Marta Stovin, Lisa Gerlits, Emily Hanson-Gifford, Corin Parker and guest instructors.
Deadline: Script fee is due before or by June 28th to guarantee place. Class size is limited to 20; early registration is recommended!
Requirements: New! No audition required! No experience required, though it is helpful.
Class options are:
· Master acting and improvisation skills at a more advanced level through "Improv & Theatre Games" class.
· Study scenes and characterization with an emphasis on solos and duos in "Monologues and Scene Study" class.
· Learn choreography and basic dance steps most commonly used in musical theatre through chorus numbers, including partnering and tricks in "Choreography & Dance Basics" class.
· Obtain vocal skills and learn techniques for proper projection, singing, developing a musical ear in "Voice Lessons for Actors" class.
· Learn and master different accents and dialects -- a great acting skill to have -- such as British/Cockney, Irish, Scottish and NYC/east coast accents in our "Accents & Dialects" class.
· Learn to apply your own stage make-up application and how to use tools for basic make-up, aging, characterization, special lighting and more in our "Stage Make-up Arts" class.
· Camp participants will have an opportunity to perform locally at Homer Davenport Days, Silverton Fine Arts Festival, Oregon State Fair and Farmers Markets if they choose to.
Students will need to supply:
· For Dance classes, dance attire – Girls: either a leotard or exercise top, with jazz pants and character shoes. Boys: fitted t-shirt, jazz pants and black jazz shoes. (Available for order or purchase at AAPAC boutique)
· For the stage make-up arts class, a personal stage make-up kit (available for order or purchase at AAPAC boutique). Needs to include: (specify skin tone) Creme Foundation, Four Color Contour Palette with Creme Rouge, Highlight, Shadow and Lip color, Face Powder, Powder Puff, Eyebrow Pencil, Flat Brush, Sponge Applicator, Stipple Sponge. Preferred brands are Ben Nye or Mehron. (Cost through AAPAC is $18.)
