Uniform Guidelines ~ As of Summer 2011
All uniform items can be purchased at the AAPAC boutique located in the academy lobby, or ordered directly online through Dancewear Solutions at www.DancewearSolutions.com . If we don't have your size in stock, we are happy to place an order for you, which will arrive approximately one week from the order date. Shipping and Handling charges will be applied.
Creative Movement
Class Uniform: Girls: Pink leotard (any brand, any length sleeve), chiffon skirt, ballet pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes and hair in bun. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black shorts and black ballet shoes; white socks optional.
Level 1 Ballet (formerly called Pre-Ballet)
Class Uniform: Girls: Pink Camisole leotard (Balera style #CL127), pink chiffon skirt, ballet pink full footed tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and hair in tidy bun. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black shorts and black ballet shoes; white socks optional.
Level 2 Ballet (formerly called Primary Ballet)
Class Uniform: Girls: Lavender Camisole leotard (Balera style #CL161), optional chiffon skirt for class (will need one for Performance Awards), ballet pink full footed tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and hair in tidy bun. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black shorts and black ballet shoes; white socks optional.
Level 3 Ballet
Class Uniform: Girls: Light Blue camisole leotard (Balera style #CL127), NO chiffon skirt (except for Performance Awards), ballet pink full footed tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and hair in tidy bun. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black shorts and black ballet shoes; white socks optional.
Level 4 Ballet
Class Uniform: Girls: Buttercup Yellow camisole leotards (Balera style #CL127), No chiffon skirt (except for Performance Awards), ballet pink full footed tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and hair in tidy bun. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black shorts or black men’s tights and black ballet shoes; white socks optional.
Level 5 Ballet
Class Uniform: Girls: Marine Blue camisole leotard (Balera style #MT757), No chiffon skirt (except for Performance Awards), ballet pink full footed tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and hair in tidy bun. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black men’s tights and black ballet shoes.
Level 6 Ballet
Class Uniform: Girls: Melon camisole leotard (Balera style #MT757), chiffon skirt for pointe & Performance Awards only, ballet pink transitional footed tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and hair in tidy bun. Pointe shoes may be required. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black men’s tights and black or white ballet shoes.
Level 7 Ballet
Class Uniform: Girls: Coral pink camisole leotard (prefer Balera style #CL161), chiffon skirt for pointe & Performance Awards only, ballet pink transitional footed tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and hair in tidy bun. Pointe shoes. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black men’s tights and black or white ballet shoes.
Level 8 Ballet
Class Uniform: Girls: Jade green camisole leotard (Balera style #CL161). Chiffon skirt for pointe & Performance Awards, ballet pink transitional footed tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and hair in tidy bun. Pointe shoes. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black men’s tights and black ballet shoes.
Level 9 Ballet
Class Uniform: Girls: Sage green camisole leotard (Balera style #MT757). Chiffon skirt for pointe, ballet pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and hair in bun. Pointe shoes. Black Character shoes and black circle character skirt may be needed in the spring. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black men’s tights and black or white ballet shoes. Black character shoes may be needed.
Level 10 Ballet
Class Uniform: Girls: Dark Teal camisole leotard (Balera style #MT2214). Chiffon skirt for pointe & Performance Awards, ballet pink transitional footed tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and hair in tidy bun. Pointe shoes. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black men’s tights and black or white ballet shoes.
Level 11 Ballet
Class Uniform: Girls: Orchid camisole leotard (Balera style #MT2214). Chiffon skirt for pointe & Performance Awards, ballet pink transitional footed tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and hair in tidy bun. Pointe shoes. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black men’s tights and black or white ballet shoes.
Level 12 Ballet
Class Uniform: Girls: Eggplant camisole leotard (Balera style #MT2214). Chiffon skirt for pointe & Performance Awards, ballet pink transitional footed tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and hair in tidy bun. Pointe shoes. Boys: Short sleeve white t-shirt, black men’s tights and black or white ballet shoes.
All Beginning Teen or Adult Ballet Students
Class Uniform: Women: Any color, style or brand of leotard, ballet pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes; chiffon skirts are optional. Hair needs to be in tidy bun, or if short hair, up as much as possible away from the face. Men: Short sleeve solid color t-shirts, either fitness/gym shorts or mens ballet tights (footed or footless), "dance belt" (dance version of athletic supporter), black ballet shoes. If men have long hair they need to wear a bandana or sweat band to keep hair out of eyes.
All Jazz and Theatre Dance Classes
Class Uniform: Girls: Any color, style or brand leotard with either black jazz pants or black footless tights, with Black leather jazz shoes. Black character shoes may also be required for some choreography. Boys: Any color fitted t-shirt, black jazz pants and black leather jazz shoes.
Modern
Class Uniform: Girls: Any color, style, or brand leotard with either black footless tights or jazz/yoga/exercise pants and bare feet; lyrical or modern foot thongs optional. Boys: Any color fitted t-shirt, and either footless men’s tights, unitard, athletic shorts or jazz pants and bare feet; foot thongs optional.
All Belly Dancing
Class Uniform: Comfortable clothing (please no baggy t-shirts so that we can see your movement), a coin belt, finger cymbals, and a circle skirt may be required by the instructor as you progress. Bare feet or lyrical/modern thongs are optional.
Kids Tap
Class Uniform: Girls: Any color, brand, style leotard, black jazz pants or leggings, tap shoes. Boys: any color t-shirt, black jazz pants and tap shoes.
Adult Tap
Class uniform: Men/Women: Comfortable attire of your choice and tap shoes. Please be sure that it is not overly baggy so that we can see your movement and is not a trip hazard.
